"In My Name" – A 32-Year Journey to Grammy Consideration

What a journey it has been! I'm beyond honored and grateful to announce that my song, "In My Name," is up for Grammy consideration in the category of Best Gospel Performance/Song. Originally written in 1987 and first commercially released in 1992, this song has been part of my life for over three decades. To see it being recognized on this level, 32 years later, is both surreal and deeply humbling.

When I first penned "In My Name," I could never have imagined the lasting impact it would have or the places it would go. It’s a testament to the power of gospel music—that songs born from faith and inspiration can resonate across generations. To see it revived and brought to life in such a powerful way by Smokie Norful is a blessing beyond words. Smokie’s voice and spirit carry the message in a way that touches the soul, bringing fresh life to the words and melody I wrote all those years ago.

Thank you to everyone who has supported this song over the years and embraced its message. Your encouragement and love have helped keep this song alive and allowed it to reach new heights. A special shout-out to @thebmoexperience for creating this beautiful graphic, capturing the heart and soul of this journey to Grammy consideration.

As we wait for the results, my heart is full of gratitude for this journey and for each and every person who has been a part of it. Whether or not we take home the Grammy, knowing that "In My Name" has touched so many lives is the ultimate reward.

Thank you for your support and for believing in the music. Here's to faith, resilience, and the incredible journey of gospel music!

With love and appreciation,

Dr. Percy Bady
